Chouffe Houblon Dobbelen IPA
Houblon is truly unique and the best example we've ever seen of a IPA/Begian Tripel hybrid. It pours a cloudy and pale yelowish, orange. It almost looks like someone blended a couple of bananas and an orange together for a smoothy. The white foam grows pillowy and soft from the start. The nose contains aromas of bready yeast, earthy hops, bubblegum, grains, corn, and loads of soft fruit. The palate is soft, chewy, doughy, and dry. The brew's flavors are remarkably well balanced. Blending two styles is not easy, but Chouffe seems to have gotten the most out of both. There's lovely lemon pepper, lemon zest, grapefruit, and other relaxed hoppy citrus flavors. However, there is also flour, grain, corn, pear, apple, mango, and a myriad of other notes. Well done.
