If you’ve been by the store recently, you may have visited our new beer cellar. We’re really excited about it over here at Cool Springs Wines & Spirits. As you walk in the store, just head directly to your left.
It’s currently located where Frank’s Value Cellar used to be. But don’t worry! Frank’s value wines are still located in that general location. The truth is that Frank’s Value Cellar outgrew that location and needed a little more room to spread its wings. The leftover space was perfect for a beer cellar.
Why a beer cellar? For those of you new to the interesting beer laws in Tennessee, it breaks down like this. To sell any beer above 6.2% alcohol, you must have a liquor license. Thus you can’t find many of the best beers available in grocery or regular beer stores. To get the best IPAs, seasonals, stouts, barley wines, meades, porters, Belgians, bocks, etc…you have to go to a bar or a liquor store like Cool Springs Wines & Spirits.
If you’re a beer lover, you must stop by and see our selection. It keeps getting bigger and brighter every day.
FEATURED BEERS

Abbey Ale by New Belgium Brewing Co., Fort Collins, Colorado - Along with the famous Fat Tire, this is one of the first beers brewed by New Belgium. It has been re-released with a new label along with the Trippel and their new India Pale Ale called Ranger in the Explorer series. Winner of four World Beer Cup medals and eight medals at the Great American Beer Fest, this is one of New Belgium's most celebrated products. It is brewed with an authentic Belgian yeast strain and ferments a second time in the bottle (it's a Belgian dubbel, as in double fermentation) to produce some complex yeasty bread-like flavors. This is complemented with lots of moderately sweet caramel, dried fruit, and some dark chocolate flavors with perhaps a hint of banana and brown spices. This is classic Belgian beer at a friendlier American-made price.
Trippel Ale by New Belgium Brewing Co., Fort Collins, Colorado - On the other side of the Belgian beer coin from Abbey Dubbel is Abbey Trippel. The difference here, other than triple fermentation, is a pretty dramatically different set of flavors. Like the Abbey Dubbel, there's plenty of bread and caramel-like flavors here, but there is also a strong hop presence that fades into citrus fruits like lemon and grapefruit with a touch of banana and some coriander. This is all classic trippel style, but again, like the Abbey Dubbel, it's all masterfully brewed and balanced, and it comes to us at a lower price than the Belgian beers which are often brewed by actual abbey monks. For most people, New Belgium is at least as good as true Belgium.
