If you’ve been by the store recently, you may have visited our new beer cellar. We’re really excited about it over here at Cool Springs Wines & Spirits. As you walk in the store, just head directly to your left.
It’s currently located where Frank’s Value Cellar used to be. But don’t worry! Frank’s value wines are still located in that general location. The truth is that Frank’s Value Cellar outgrew that location and needed a little more room to spread its wings. The leftover space was perfect for a beer cellar.
Why a beer cellar? For those of you new to the interesting beer laws in Tennessee, it breaks down like this. To sell any beer above 6.2% alcohol, you must have a liquor license. Thus you can’t find many of the best beers available in grocery or regular beer stores. To get the best IPAs, seasonals, stouts, barley wines, meades, porters, Belgians, bocks, etc…you have to go to a bar or a liquor store like Cool Springs Wines & Spirits.
If you’re a beer lover, you must stop by and see our selection. It keeps getting bigger and brighter every day.
FEATURED BEER REVIEW

BrewDog Paradox Glen Grant
BrewDog is a fairly new Brewery in Scotland that has made a name for themselves by making some of the highest alcohol content beer on Earth. With their famous brews: The Tactical Nuclear Penguin 32% ABV, Sink the Bismark 41% ABV, and The End of History at an astonishing 55% ABV, Brewdog is pioneering the way to new extremes in the Beer Industry. I am proud to say that Cool Springs Wine and Spirits has brought in the BrewDog Paradox line of brews featuring the Speyside Imperial Stout, Glen Grant Imperial Stout, and the Macallan Imperial Stout.
This week I am reviewing the Paradox Glen Grant Imperial Stout. This Imperial has been aged in a former 1970 Glen Grant Scotch Cask which adds tremendous amounts of flavors and appreciation. The Glen Grant pours dark brown with very little head retention and very little lacing. This Stout has BIG aromas that range from coffee, vanilla, chocolate, and loads of whisky flavors. The mouthfeel is thick and heavy. This brew is so complex its almost impossible to pick out everything this beer has to offer. Coffee and chocolate come first then some nice hops toward the back that balance well. The finish is long, lingering, and full of whiskey flavors. My conclusion is that this is one of the best brews I have had in a long time however, you must like to Scotch/Whisky to enjoy this beautiful creation.
