Harpoon Leviathan Imperial IPA
This week I will be reviewing Harpoon Leviathan Imperial IPA. The Leviathan Series surfaced at Harpoon in the summer of 2008 and is their exploration in brewing big beers for adventurous palates. Leviathan beers are brewed in 120-barrel batches so it is quality over quantity for sure. The Imperial IPA in the series boasts over 120IBU which is way beyond bitter. The aroma is strong with Pine, citrus and caramel to let you know this is not just regular IPA. The flavor is intense with bitterness, spice and a sweet malt presence to help give this IPA it's complexity. This full bodied IPA finishes well and is 10%ABV so enjoy responsibly. 98% on ratebeer.com
