Great Divide Hercules Double IPA brewed by Great Divide Brewing Company in Denver, Colorado - Hercules pours a transparent copper, gold color with a huge white head and elegant lacing. Hop and malt aromas are both prevalent which is a pleasant change for an IPA. The maltiness of this brew really stands out here. It's unusual to pick up so much toffee, nutty, toasted caramel, and sweet malt goodness in a double IPA which are notorious for being hop bombs. That being said all the hop red flags are present as well. After all, Hercules would not be an India Pale Ale without the pine cone, citrus, and floral notes that we've all come to crave. The mouth-feel is mouth-watering with just the right bitter finish to balance out the sweetness of all that malt. Well made brew worth drinking especially for football season.
