Cool Springs Wines & Spirits' Featured Beer

J.W. Lees Moonraker brewed by J.W. Lees in Middleton Junction, England - This English strong ale is very reminiscent of a traditional English nut brown. It pours an opaque copper brown color with a beige head. The aroma has notes of sweet malt, caramel, chestnuts, toffee, and dark fruits. The flavors of this beer remind me of a Newcastle on steroids. Nutty malt, honey wheat bread, and plum in particular stand out. It's just sweet enough without over doing it. We haven't had a good beer of this style in a long time. It gets a few extra points from me.
