If you’ve been by the store recently, you may have visited our new beer cellar. We’re really excited about it over here at Cool Springs Wines & Spirits. As you walk in the store, just head directly to your left.
It’s currently located where Frank’s Value Cellar used to be. But don’t worry! Frank’s value wines are still located in that general location. The truth is that Frank’s Value Cellar outgrew that location and needed a little more room to spread its wings. The leftover space was perfect for a beer cellar.
Why a beer cellar? For those of you new to the interesting beer laws in Tennessee, it breaks down like this. To sell any beer above 6.2% alcohol, you must have a liquor license. Thus you can’t find many of the best beers available in grocery or regular beer stores. To get the best IPAs, seasonals, stouts, barley wines, meades, porters, Belgians, bocks, etc…you have to go to a bar or a liquor store like Cool Springs Wines & Spirits.
If you’re a beer lover, you must stop by and see our selection. It keeps getting bigger and brighter every day.
FEATURED BEER REVIEW

Sierra Nevada 30th Anniversary Black Barleywine
Sierra Nevada is doing some special collaborations in honor of their 30th Anniversary. This Black Barlywine (Jack and Ken's Ale) is the third out of four editions that creating excitement all over America. Sierra Nevada is known for making some very tasty IPAs and and others using only the finest ingredients all while producing some seasonal and one time releases that continue to impress beer lovers all over.
This Black Barleywine uses the best roasted malts and Cascade hops to form a nice balance of malt characteristics along with a nice bitter finish. The color is dark but can have a slight appearance of red and orange when held up to light. the aromas coming from this brew are caramel, toffee, dates, hops, and a hint of cereal grains. The body is heavier than most barleywines and has nice lacing to back this up. What makes this brew stand out, to me, is how they blend all this roasted grain together with Cascade hops to bring out the most flavor possible. This is a one time release which will go quick so if you want to enjoy this beer, hurry because it wont last long. This third edition of the series gets me very excited about the fourth and final edition which is set to come out in mid October which is the Brewer's Reserve.
