New Belgium Vrienden
New Belgium's Vrienden is a work of art that will intrigue any beer lover. This brew is a "collabeeration" of New Belgium Brewing and Allagash Brewing that has been inoculated with Brettanomyces yeast and Lactobacillus bacteria to give a slightly sour taste. Not to fear though, it is not as sour as a true lambic can be and this brew has some other interesting ingredients in it like Hibiscus flowers to give it some great fruit flavors. With all that said, this brew gives off one of the most unique aromas I have ever experienced. Some of these aromas include Pineapple, Cherries, Must, Citrus, and a funky floral bouquet. The flavor comes on strong with a sourness that will make your mouth water and many fruits like grapes, raisins and raspberries show through. This unique beverage can be enjoyed when paired with creamy, soft cheeses among many other foods or it is great by itself. Pick up this brew and bask in its unique flavors today.
