Harviestoun Ola Dubh 30 Year Old
Cool Springs Wines & Spirits has a new must try high gravity beer. Harviestoun Ola Dubh from Scotland is a dark Old Ale aged in Highland Park's 30 year old Scotch barrels. Sounds intense right? It is. The bottle looks classy, the aromas meld together to form very complex notes of peat, lots of oak, whisky, and roasted vanilla. On the palate I picked up leather, oak, dark fruit, whisky, and peat. What I loved about this brew is that these flavors are big individually but do well to come together forming a very smooth, creamy dark ale that is refined and elegant. I would love to have another bottle of this Ola Dubh 30 year to put away for a while to see what time would have to offer for this brew. So my advice to you would be to buy 2, one to drink and one to put away for a year or longer.
