Have you ever had a difficult time deciding which new wine to try or which wine to pair with a meal? Pinot Noir can be a decadent, versatile and trendy option. In fact, in Williamson County, Pinot Noir is currently one of the best-selling varietals in the market place.

One of the world's oldest wine varietals, it is a wonder it has taken so long for this delicate wine to excite the American palate. Movie fans were enticed to try Pinot Noir by the wine-country film, "Sideways", have found themselves seduced by this decadent wine. What they are discovering is that this most versatile of food wines pairs well with everything from duck to lamb, from turkey to grilled salmon.

Pinot Noir is a finicky grape that is difficult to cultivate, ferment and produce with consistency. However, when it all comes together, good Pinot Noirs can be as sublime as the movie suggests. They can tantalize the senses, with their rich texture and alluring aromas. Flavors of cherry, raspberry, strawberries mingle with scents of smoked meats, rose petals, violets, black tea and pepper. The soft, velvety finish of a fine Pinot says all it needs to say about America's new wine passion.
