With over 90 international awards and recognitions, Flor de Caña, the slow-aged Nicaraguan rum, holds the title for one of the most awarded rums in the world. Unlike any other rums, Compañia Licorera de Nicaragua’s Flor de Caña boasts a unique slow-aging™ process that produces only the finest of rums. In fact, the natural, undisturbed aging process, which uses natural temperature, ventilation, and duration, secured the company with an ISO 9000 certification for its high quality production processes, the first awarded to any rum producer. Possessing a portfolio of 8 different expressions, aged a minimum of 4 years in oak barrels, Flor de Caña delivers the finest premium and super-premium rums available today. The only genuinely aged rum in the world, Flor de Caña achieves superior quality and palate without artificially accelerating the aging process or combining different ages. Ranging from premium to super-premium, the smooth, versatile rums can be savored on the rocks or in mixed drinks, such as the Macua described below. With palates spanning from super subtle to full-bodied, each of the aged rums possesses bountiful flavors, like exotic peppercorns and toffee, luxurious qualities recognized by critics and consumers alike.
Not only is Flor de Caña the most popular brand in all of Central America, but also Compañia Licorera de Nicaragua commitment to protecting the environment is unparalleled. Today, the Flor de Caña distillery is recognized worldwide as one of the most efficient and eco-friendly of such facilities. By productively using by-products from the manufacturing process and 100% natural ingredients, Flor de Caña virtually eliminates product residues and environmental pollution. The company alone provides 8% of Nicaragua’s thermal-electric energy needs during sugar cane season. A leader in environmental protection, Flor de Caña stands for an unwavering commitment to both producing the finest rums and promoting socially responsible practices.
