Pali Wine Company Fiddlestix Pinot Noir 2011
|Region||California, Central Coast, Sta. Rita Hills|
|Brand||Pali Wine Company|
Outstanding, the 2011 Pinot Noir Fiddlestix shows a darker slant to its bouquet with ripe cherries, cassis, licorice, ground spices and pepper all emerging from the glass. Medium-bodied, structured and nicely focused, with a stacked mid-palate, sweet tannin and a great texture, it will be better in another year and have 7-8 years of evolution, if not longer. I love the overall richness and structure here, and this is impressive. Drink 2014-2019+.
A beautiful Pinot Noir, light and silky in the mouth, with brisk acidity and a lovely coat of sweet, smoky new oak. The flavors show the pedigree of the vineyard, suggesting ripe raspberries, cherries, cola and red currants, touched with exotic sandalwood. Drink now-2018.
Presents a rich core of dark berry character, with plum, raspberry and blueberry notes. Dense and layered without being weighty or tannic. Drink now through 2020. 186 cases made.
