Donatella Cinelli Colombini Brunello di Montalcino 2014
|Region||Italy, Tuscany, Brunello di Montalcino|
|Brand||Donatella Cinelli Colombini|
Aromas of forest floor, menthol, new leather and exotic spice take center stage on this fragrant red. Racy and linear, the lithe elegant palate delivers juicy Morello cherry, orange slice, licorice and crushed herb alongside polished tannins and vibrant acidity. Drink 2021-2026.
This already tastes mature, with mellowing cherry, leather, tobacco, earth and underbrush flavors. Shows initial ripeness, giving way to firm tannins as this winds down on the finish. Drink now through 2029. 2,166 cases made, 700 cases imported.
Good full red. Redcurrant and strawberry mingle with savory veal stock and resiny oak spices on the bright nose. Then very fresh and clean, with a precise, vibrant mouthfeel unperturbed by youthfully chewy tannins and complicated by hints of minerals and dried marjoram. This easy to drink, already very accessible Brunello closes long and linear, showcasing lovely balance and lots of early appeal. I'd say this is so easygoing that it's downright gulpable.
